Vidya Wati Singh, 74, left us on December 18th 2016, with her family by her side in Hayward California.Vidya was born on October 3rd 1942, in Suva, Fiji Islands to Mr and Mrs Chinta and Dhanraji Ram.Married to late Mr. Bali Singh in 1958She had five children:Pratap ( Bobby ) SinghSunita ( Rita ) SinghSharita ( Shirley ) PratapSangeeta DuncanVictor SinghShe moved to the US in 1978.Resided in San Mateo County for more than 30 years. Then moved to Alameda County for the past 17 years. As a very young widow and someone who became a quadriplegic she was able to successfully raise 5 children, and was able to receive the love and joy of six grand children and two great grandchildren.Vidya took the time to stay in touch with all her family and friends all around the world and always receive the upmost respect from everyone. She went out of her way to help anyone and everyone.Vidya was someone who always made time to go that extra mile while one would feel overwhelmed in her condition. She never once used her disability as an excuse in life. She was a strong, smart, amazing, loving, caring, classy, elegant, beautiful, resilient, and highly respected woman. To try and describe Vidya in so short of words is impossible. To our wonderful mother, grandmother, great grand mother, sister and aunt. She was our rock. Our cheerleader.Steadfast and strong. Her laughter was infectious. Her smile would light up your face. She left her mark everywhere. And she gave her love unconditionally. With her head held high and with such graceShe’ll be an act that one can never follow, for she was one-of-a-kind.We miss her so much and just want to holdher hand one more time.As tears fall down our cheek, she whispers from above,“One step at a time, one step at a time.”She left everlasting memories for our hearts. We are proud and blessed to call you our mother.WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU
