Victor Manuel Cortez's Obituary
Victor Manuel Cortez passed away on March 17, 2017. He was born to Felicitas and Victor Cortez. He the youngest of 5 children, a sister named Carmen, and 3 brothers, Manuel, Gilbert and Luis. He is survived by his brother Gilbert Cortez, niece Evelyn Aguilar, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and lots of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felicitas and Victor, his sister Carmen and his brothers Manuel and Luis. He was born in Puerto Rico on 1/6/1952, where he lived and visited every 2 years to see his family and friends.He loved to travel anywhere and everywhere; he went with friends, family and also on his own. He never let anything stop him from getting out and exploring many cites to get to he loved to eat at different places. His pastimes were flea markets, antique shops and farmers markets. He loved to go by every place walking down the streets either in Oakland, Hayward, San Leandro or the Vallejo areas. He considered everyone his friend and loved them with all he had. He was always smiling and friendly with everyone, he enjoyed riding the bus, bart, and going to the City. He never let his disability stop him from doing anything he want to do or go. He always saw the world as a very friendly place and he did everything his way.He was a loyal fan of the WWE, he loved Wrestling and he would attend every event when they came to perform in Oakland or San Francisco. If he couldn’t go he would watch it on Pay Per View. He never missed Wrestling on TV on Mondays, Tuesday and Saturdays. He collected hats, shirts, Wrestling figures and cards. He picked up mementos everywhere he went for himself and for his family and friends. He would always think of others and would have a gift for you when he saw you no Katter how big or small he wanted you to know he was thinking of you wherever he was.He lived with his Niece Evelyn Aguilar, her husband Felipe since 2011. He loved that he had he could watch his Wrestling shows with his niece and great nieces and great, great nieces and nephews. They enjoyed watching the Wrestling with him as well. It was a family tradition each year.It has been said that a heart that is broken is a heart that has been loved. When God called for another angel to come home, he left the hearts of so many broken because each of those hearts were loved so genuinely by Victor Cortez. He was a wonderful man, smart, funny, honest, loving, very giving and loved unconditionally He was loved by many friends and family, he will be missed by many especially his family. It was a blessing to have loved him and been loved by him.
