Vickie was married to Michael Romero in Lake Tahoe in 1978, and they lived together in Newark, CA for the next 44 years. Vickie is survived by her husband Michael Romero, her son Michael Romero II, daughter Mary Emmons, her granddaughters, Shani Bounds, Melissa Ilg, Megan Osbrink, Tarina Ferrel, and her great grandchildren, Lisa Bounds, Eddie Valdez, Daniel Whitford, Alexa Ilg, Addison Ilg, Keira Osbrink, and Annie Osbrink.
Vickie was a fun and witty person, always ready for the next adventure with friends and family. If you were lucky enough to know Vickie, you know what I’m talking about. Vickie and Michael spent much time traveling, their favorite was exploring beaches together from Washington down to Mexico, they were always on the go. Vickie was also an avid water skier and loved to camp for weeks at Lakes like Don Pedro with her friends and family. Vickie was also known to pull the one arm bandit in Reno and Tahoe on occasion, or playing Keno, and was one of the luckiest gamblers I’ve known.
Vickie worked in high tech and was an excellent electrical technician. Vickie couldn’t speak of many of the projects she worked on, as she had top level security clearance. But she was proud that she worked on the Voyager I and II projects, both still floating through our universe!
Viewing and Funeral Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA 94544, from 12:30 – 2:00PM on Monday March 28th. Burial services will follow immediately at 2:15PM at the Chapel of the Chimes Cemetery.
