Velma Jeanette McElvogue's Obituary
Velma Jeanette Dent McElvogue, 88 passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2002 at Alameda Hospital in Alameda, California. Velma was born on October 11, 1913 in Oklahoma. She was a resident of Alameda, California for 51 years. Velma enjoyed gardening, bingo, playing cards, pie baking and fishing. Velma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, H.H. (Jack) McElvogue. Velma was also preceded in death by her son; Jerry, a sister, Margaret Thomas and a brother, Alvin Dent. She is survived by her loving children: six daughters; Louella of Sacramento, Jackie of Apex, South Carolina, Emma of Farmington, Arkansas, Diana of Denver, Colorado, Joyce of Newark, California and Sylvia of Alameda, California. She also is survived by her three sons: John of Fremont, Denis of Bella Vista and Larry of Newark, California.
