Tyler Joshua Flynn's Obituary
Tyler Joshua Flynn was born on December 1, 1995 and walked into the loving arms of his Savior on May 1, 2015While waiting for the diagnosis to see whether or not he had the same disease that took his sisters, Tyler told his mom, “If I have the disease, then God gave it to me for a reason and I hope something good comes out of it.” After Tyler was diagnosed with Spinal Cerebellar Ataxia (SCA-17), Tyler’s faith never wavered and sustained him throughout his battle. He never questioned or doubted God, but always knew that God had a plan even though he did not know what it was. Tyler will be remembered as a valiant warrior who lived life fearlessly and with great courage. He understood the importance of living in the present, not dwelling on the past or focusing on the future. He was determined and purposeful in living his life to the fullest, embracing each day. He did not allow the disease to define him, but enjoyed a lifetime of experiences in his short 19 years. He loved the challenge of playing games with family and friends. He was very competitive and loved winning, but he mainly just loved to interact and be with people. He desired others to enter into his world and understand what he was doing, whether it was watching one of his favorite shows or playing a video game and would stop to teach and explain. He was a kind soul who was very loving and caring towards all he met and whose infectious smile could light up the room. His sheer enthusiasm for life was truly inspiring and touched many. He loved to laugh and loved to make others laugh even up until the very end. His laughter was absolutely contagious and you couldn’t help but fall under his impish charm. He was a true people magnet; people loved to be around him just for the sheer joy of being around him as he was a true inspiration while facing this horrific disease. We wish we could’ve kept him here with us longer, yet we rejoice knowing that he is safe in the arms of Jesus, free from pain and suffering. We are so happy for him that he is no longer limited by his earthly body, but is now enjoying his new heavenly body. We have no doubt that he is now smiling, playing, laughing, and perhaps even singing and dancing with his sweet sisters! We will miss you Tyler, our loss is heaven’s gain!Tyler is survived by his father David (who also has the disease) and mother Diane. Preceded in death by his sisters Amy and Ashley.
