Our beloved Trinidad “Nida” Salumbides-Conti was peacefully united to her Lord, surrounded by her loved ones at their home in Sacramento, California on the 27th of May, 2020. She is survived by her sister, Rezy Salumbides Canizeras and her children, Doris Flores Santaromana, David Conti, Rizza Alcantara and Monette Natividad.
Nida was born and raised in Manila to a delightful family of eight children and celebrated parents - her mother famous for her outstanding beauty and her father, a pioneering trailblazer in Philippine cinema. Though she grew up around the arts, she chose dentistry as her profession. She fell in love with and married Lino David Conti when she was 23 but sadly was widowed nine years after. She went on to raise and guide her children with an admirable combination of grit and grace.
Nida enjoyed scrabble and savored the romantic standards of Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra but mostly her greatest thrill was the company of her large family which includes three great grandchildren, her dear friends, and folks of all shape and form. She used her gifts to serve and set good example as evidenced through her selfless dedication in treating patients in Public Health Service for more than thirty years. Equally dedicated to her Christian faith, she volunteered her dental expertise to help the less privileged in the medical missions of the Loved Flock Catholic Charismatic Ministry and worked as a trusted lay adviser in the Franciscan Servants of Mary of the San Pedro Bautista Parish for many years.
Respected and adored by her immediate and extended family, she lovingly cared for them for three generations and will fondly be remembered as a gentle matriarch for all seasons.
Nida’s immediate family will be celebrating her purposeful life and legacy at the Mission Chapel in Hayward, CA. at 9AM on Saturday, the 6th of June
