Tokiko Gibbons' Obituary
Tokiko Gibbons Resident of Fremont June 1, 1936- Feb. 11, 2012 Tokiko Gibbons was born in Japan and married James “Mike” Gibbons while he was stationed with the Navy in Japan. Mike and Tokiko moved to California, where they permanently settled in Fremont and had one daughter, Tory. Tokiko enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved going to the casinos to play the slot machines and playing Bingo. She enjoyed watching golf, Giants and 49ers games on television. Her friends and family will remember her for her delicious cooking, caring heart and sense of humor. She dedicated her life to being a loving wife and mother, a supportive friend and a devout follower of Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism. Tokiko is survived by her daughter, Tory Gibbons of Fremont; brother, Eikichi Kawauchi and sister, Shigeko Kawauchi of Japan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Gibbons in 2001. Friends and Family are invited to her Memorial Service on March 10, 2012 at 1:30 PM at the Chapel of the Chimes at 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
