Ting Cheng Shiu's Obituary
Ting Cheng Shiu passed away at Fremont Health Care Center on March 17, 2018 at 9:00 pm at the age of 95。He was survived by his four sons: Kuo-Ying Hsu at Tau Yuan, Taiwan, Gwo-Shurn Shiu at Stockton, California, Kuo-Chang Hsu at Vancouver, Canada, Peter Schi at Pittsburg, California, and many grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters.On August 28, 1922, Ting Cheng was born at Changzhou City which is close to Shanghai, China. In the year of 1949, Ting Cheng moved from Mainland China to Taiwan. He worked as an assistant to the administrator of a hospital. After his retirement in 1991, Ting Cheng immigrated to the United States of America and settled down in Northern California with his youngest son Peter Schi.He was a loving father and a loving grandfather, especially to his grandson Michael. In return to his love, all his sons made great efforts to care for him in his illness.When lived in Taiwan, Ting Cheng enjoyed the American pop songs. He sang and his four sons played the drum and guitars. They even performed at the party where he worked.Being an US citizen, Ting Cheng always made campaign contributions to his favorite candidates. Ting Cheng was a devoted Christian; he truly believed in Jesus Christ and encouraged people to do the same.Now, it is a great blessing for Ting Cheng and his family that he is resting peacefully in God’s hands.
