Tina Marie (McGowan) Tellez's Obituary
Tina Marie (McGowan) Tellez was born in Malden Massachusetts, July 17th, 1980. She slipped away from this world quietly November 1, 2019 in Hayward California after a long and arduous battle with addiction. The loss of this battle has left a hole in the hearts of all who loved her.Tina was an effervescent child with wide eyes and a big bright smile that would illuminate a room. Even in the height of her battle, that smile never faded. While Tina attended Monroe Middle School in San Jose, she was involved in band and played the clarinet. An avid swimmer, Tina was highly involved in the Del Mar High School Swim Team in San Jose, winning most of her swim meets. She was also on route to a career in the medical field upon graduation and received a scholarship towards that career path. She graduated Del Mar High School in 1998.Tina is survived by her beloved daughter Rebecca Tellez, mother Lynda Stratton, step-father Rick Stratton, father Richard McGowan, brother Leonard Greenlaw, sisters Rebecca Bell and Megan McGowan, step-sister Brittney Stratton and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving grandmother Carolyn Sheridan, and her husband Ramon Tellez. The passing of Tina is crushing to all of us who loved her. She mattered in this world and there is an incredible void where she once stood. If you are struggling with this battle yourself, please know, you matter. Your place in this world matters. Find your connection, find a way to be…be sad, be angry, be anxious, be broken, it’s all okay, just be who you are this moment, breath, and find your path to you…just be. There are avenues out there that can assist you in getting back on your path and being is much better than not being…just be. Peace to you.A private family service will be held November 14th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in Tina’s name to Second Chance Inc. Hayward Recovery Center, 107 Jackson St., Hayward, CA 94544
