On February 8, 2018, Tina “Micki” Dabney, a loving and devoted mother and friend, passed away at Highland Hospital, in Oakland, California. This was a result of a heart attack that occurred while she was with her son Michael in her home. This journey would take her back to Port Huron and Newark, then to Oakland, where she resided since 1978.Her successful, professional, working career with a variety of organizations (centered mostly on serving the community) allowed her to remain enthusiastic and youthful right into retirement. With a zeal for the “joyous excitement” that is life, her natural beauty and energetic personality resonated. She always had energy to spare for others. She was able to enjoy the growth and experiences of her grandchildren and that of her niece’s family. She was a member of Creekside Community Church. Tina made friends easily throughout her life and kept in touch despite distances. She was never shy about giving her opinion, which was usually a worthwhile offering or blessing.Blessed with unusually good health, Tina was always on the go or ready to go…till she finally was gone. She now reunites with loved ones including her sister, Mae, and three brothers, Coleman, Julius, and Robert. She is survived by her two sons, Michael Stephen Dabney (Laura Elaine Ellis) and Lloyd Byron AmoChip Dabney; Granddaughter, Leslie Michele Pleasant; Grandson, Jordon Ellis Dabney; and great-grandsons Keaun Toler and Tyler Pleasant, Niece Djuana Youngblood (Anthony); Tracie Boone (Melvin); James Martin Sr. (Chantel); Great nieces Chatoia, Ja’Mese, Ashanti, Great nephews James Jr. Cameryn; Great-great nephew Gabriel. In keeping with Tina’s wishes there will be no service.
