Timothy Donald Kendall's Obituary
Timothy Donald Kendall, beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather was called away quickly to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Born June 26, 1946 in Alameda to Harry and Mildred Kendall, Tim grew up in the Oakland Hills and attend both Skyline and Oakland High Schools. He was an avid bowler through his early teens and bowled professionally all over Northern California with the PCCB as an adult.Tim spent 51 years of his life with the love of his life, Pam, including 47 years of marriage. They met as children as their families were friends and members at the Chabot Gun Club. They had one daughter, April and lived in the Casa Verde neighborhood of Union City since 1973. He was a member of the Fremont Elks Lodge #2121 and kept up with his childhood friends from the Oakland area.Tim worked his way up to Industrial Supervisor with companies in the Bay Area such as Nabisco, International Harvester and Sherwin-Williams. He spent the majority of his career working in aviation ground services, first with PSA then with USAirways in both San Francisco and Philadelphia, PA.He enjoyed traveling throughout his life, especially to the island of Kauai’i, Hawai’i yearly with his wife and family where he enjoyed relaxing on the East side. The beach, BBQs and spending time with family were some of his favorite pastimes.He was beloved “Papa” to his three grandchildren, Tyler, Hannah and Nolan Gentry. Tim enjoyed playing with them and taking them on outings. He enjoyed fixing and modifying toys for them with his innate sense of innovation and mechanical acumen.Tim will be greatly missed by his family and friends whose lives he graced. He is survived by his wife Pamela Kendall, brother Daniel Kendall, daughter April Kendall Gentry, son-in-law Jesse Gentry, grandchildren Tyler, Hannah and Nolan Gentry as well as extended family.Donations can be made to the American Heart Association in his name. Internment was held previously at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. A private Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends June 9. Contact 310-266-1964 for more information.
