“Thongvanh Saliphan was born in Laos on September 10, 1942 to Khamsai and Hug Kongkeo.Thongvanh came to the United States and has made her home in San Francisco for almost 30 years, and more recently Union City. She was a devoted and loving mother to ten children, 6 sons and 4 daughters. Thongvanh was preceded in death by her husband Pha and two sons. She is survived by 8 children; Lae, Somboune, Sithat, Vilat, Payat, Thavin, Sombat and Sinchai, a number of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Thongvanh was especially well known for her famous Lao sausages, which she enjoyed making by hand in her home for many years as long as she was able, and were enjoyed throughout her community at restaurants, and friends’ and family’s homes in San Francisco, the East Bay, and Klamath Falls, Oregon. She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.”
