Thomas Hiram Terry's Obituary
Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Tom moved with his family to Vallejo in 1941 where his father worked in shipbuilding during World War II. The family lived in the Roosevelt Terrace housing project in Vallejo. Tom graduated from Vallejo high school and Vallejo Junior College, where he received an AA degree. He was drafted into the Army in 1953. While in the Army, he was stationed in Alaska and worked on radar sites in and about Eielson Air Force Base. He married his first wife in 1956 and together they had three daughters and a son. After he left the Army, he began his business career with Sears in San Francisco and Fremont. Later, he was with Montgomery Ward in San Bernardino and JC Penny. He took a position with Federal Express in 1984 and that’s where he stayed until he retired in December 1995. He and Sueva have a combined family of five children and eleven grandchildren. They lived in Pleasanton, California, for 28 years until they moved to Paradise Valley. Tom is an animal walker and a spectator sportsman. Tom enjoyed living in Paradise Valley Estates. While he was able, he walked dogs for people who could no longer walk theirs. He enjoyed going to the Wednesday men's Bull Session every week for coffee and listening to all the men's stories. Tom and Sueva joined the Trinity Baptist Church in Vacaville which they attended regularly. Tom had a friendly, warm personality and made many friends at PVE.
