Tenney Yi-Ting Lin's Obituary
Tenney Yi-Ting Lin passed away in her sleep at her home on December 5th, 2018 at the age of 47 after a battle with cancer. She was born in Taiwan on April 29, 1971. Her family moved to the United States in 1979 and she grew up in Walnut Creek, California, graduating from Northgate High School in 1989.After high school she attended college at UC Santa Barbara, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics-Mathematics. She then worked for a few years in a couple of different fields including banking, her parent’s photo development shop, and an internship at IBM.Tenney then went on to pursue an additional degree, earning her Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems/Accounting from San Jose State in 1999. Afterwards she began a career working for Hewlett-Packard as a software support engineer.During this period she met her husband, Arthur in 1998. They were married in 2000 and began living in Fremont. She gave birth to their son Jeffrey in 2004, and daughter Allison in 2006. In 2008 she decided to stop working and became a full time mother devoting her time to her children.Tenney loved coffee, cooking/baking, and spending time with her family. She was always kind, cheerful, and had a smile on her face.She is survived by her husband, Arthur; son, Jeffrey; daughter Allison; mother, Shu-Tzu; brother George, sister Jean, and brother-in-law Ken. She is preceded in death by her father, Chia-Ho.Tenney’s funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday December 15th at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward.
