TAZUKO T. “JEANNE” YOSHIOKA August 25, 1929 – July 6, 2015 Resident of Newark Tazuko Yoshioka was born in Berkeley, CA on August 25, 1929. She passed away after a brief battle with stomach cancer on July 6, 2015, in Union City, CA, at the age of 85. She was a resident of Newark for 56 years. Beloved wife of Toshihiko Yoshioka for almost 58 years. Loving mother to Kenneth (Lynn) Yoshioka of San Lorenzo, Amy (Kenneth) Balish of Fremont, Janet (Raymond) Maiden of Fremont, Thomas Yoshioka of Fremont, and Richard (JoAnna) Yoshioka of Fremont. Devoted grandmother to Tiffany, Scott, Kristin, Matthew, Jessica, Ricky, Taylor, Joshua and Jonathan. Dear sister to Michi (Shigeru) Nomura of El Cerrito, CA. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She grew up in Berkeley and Albany, CA and attended Longfellow Elementary School in Berkeley and Willard Junior High School in Albany. During WWII, she and her family were interned at the Topaz Relocation Center in UT. She completed junior high school and started high school in Topaz, UT. After the war, she graduated from Albany High School. Her employment included the Oakland Naval Supply Center and her parent’s nursery and landscaping businesses. She retired from her much‐loved position in the Accounts Payable Dept. at Mervyn’s after a long career.
