Susan M Vega's Obituary
Susan Marie Vega, a resident of Fremont, California for over thirty years, passed away suddenly on October 10th, 2014. She was 71 years old.Born June 5, 1943 in La Grande, Oregon, Susan grew up primarily in Santa Rosa, California. She attended Santa Rosa Junior College. In her early adulthood she lived in New York City and eventually San Francisco where she met and married her husband of 47 years, Damian Vega. She worked for various companies throughout her career and eventually retired from Nordstrom, Inc. She always said her greatest accomplishment was her family. Susan was an avid reader, enjoyed gardening, movies and attending live theater. She had a special fondness of spending time along the coast of Half Moon Bay, California.She is preceded in death by her parents, Forrest Albert and Helia Karvonen. She is survived by her husband, Damian Vega, her son Damian I. Vega, her daughters Christina and Elizabeth Vega, her grandsons Steven Vega, Julian and Javier Alfonso. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Jerry Karlsberg, and her nieces and nephews. She is greatly missed by all.At her request, there will be no services. If desired, donations in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice. The family would like to give thanks to family and friends for their support during this very difficult time.
