Sumiko Hatakeda December 21, 1916 – March 4, 2008 Born in Oakland, later moving to San Leandro where she lived for over 60 years. Predeceased by husband Shigeo, daughter Gail Grant, and grandson Dennis Hatakeda. Survived by children Helene (Nob) Iwasa, Harold Hatakeda, Marian (Bob) Chambers, Bruce (Donna) Hatakeda, and Leslie Hatakeda; grandchildren Terry (Jaydee) Dearing, Katherine (Tom) McDonald, John Chambers, Randy and Jeffrey Hatakeda; great grandchildren John and Heather Dearing, and Deborah McDonald. Also survived by brothers Jive (Betty), Tad (Kimi) and Aki (Yone) Asai. Leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Visitation Friday, March 14, 2008 at 4:30 to 8:30 pm at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward (510) 471-3363. Service on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Fremont Memorial Chapel Mortuary, 3723 Peralta Blvd., Fremont (510) 793-8900. Visitation from 12:30pm – Service at 1:30pm.
