Steven James Stover's Obituary
STEVEN STOVER, 60 Steven Stover, 60, of Oakland, CA, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at the UCSF Medical Center – Parnassus in San Francisco. Born in Oakland to Carolyn and Leroy Stover, where he lived most of his life in Oakland. Steven was a passionate man who enjoyed cooking. He worked as a chef for several different restaurants and hotels until he became ill. In his spare time he enjoyed visiting with family, listening to music, drawing and watching TV (especially cooking shows and football games). Also, he was a die-hard Raiders fan, who can be heard coaching the game from either in front of his television or on the sideline at the game. Steven was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, Samella Stover, of Oakland, Alexandria Terry, of Richmond. He is also survived by his mother Carolyn Brown,; his two brothers Charles Stover and Jimmy Brown; his five sisters, Priscilla Brown; Jackie Brown; Valencia Brown; Cassandra Brown and Sarita Ciers and his favorite brother in law Dion Ciers. He is also survived by his grandchildren Elijah Keys, Annissa Terry, Joshua Terry, Jeremiah Terry and Eisani Henderson as well as many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family and friend. An official memorial will not be held, because Steven did not want to be mourned but wanted to be celebrated. A Celebration of Life party in his name will be held on March 11, 2017.
