Stephen B. Schaak June 13, 1958 – Aug. 6th, 2009 Resident of Newark Beloved Husband of Joanne of 26 years. Loving and devoted Dad of James of the U.S. Air Force, Jeffery aspiring Firefighter/Paramedic & Jonathan of the U.S. Navy. Loving son, of Virginia and the late Robert Sr. Loving brother of Robert Jr. With broken hearts left behind, Steve’s life was filled with love for his family and friends. His reward in life was his journey with his wife and three wonderful sons. As a Merchant Marine he experienced more goodbyes than most do in a life time, but with every leg of his travels he had the promise of return to his family tucked safely away in his heart. Each time Steve returned home, the family cherished and savored every moment of their time together. To all that have been a part of his life, live the journey now and for the moment. This message is in hope that all of you are able to find the love that Steve shared and experienced during his short time with us. “Fair Winds & following seas”. Please join the family for services honoring Steve’s life at Chapel of the Chimes 32992 Mission Blvd. Hayward, CA. 94544. A visitation will be held on Thursday August 13, 2009 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Friday August 14, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow.
