STANLEY H. SEATON USN-USS FORREST 461 FEBRUARY 3, 1921- FEBRUARY 12, 2008 WWII Veteran USN, Stanley H. Seaton, better known as Stan and Opa to his grandchildren, was called to his eternal rest on February 12, 2008. Born in St. Louis, Missouri. Stanley was a 60 year resident of Castro Valley. He is survived by his loving wife Frieda Seaton, son Gary, devoted daughter Elizabeth Erdahl and son-in-law Jon, grandchildren Shawn and Jason Erdahl, Caitlyn Seaton, brother Bill, sister Marion, and great niece Jennifer.He was preceded in death in 1995, by his eldest daughter Linda. Stanley was a loving, hard working and devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather, who always put his family’s needs above his own. He was the fourth eldest of seven children to Clarence and Minnie Seaton. Stan was a devoted fan of the Oakland A’s. He was truly a St. Louis Cardinal fan but he always rooted for his home team. When he was 5 years old he saw a Babe Ruth dummy in a casket and the sign said “Don’t laugh you will be old someday”. He witnessed many baseball achievements, and had a story for each of them. Stan enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, camping and fishing in Lassen and Yosemite Nat’l Parks, and watching the Oakland A’s at spring training in Arizona. Retired from the D.M.V. after 34 years. He taught Sunday School, and was president of the A.O.A. in his earlier years. Stan will be forever loved, honored and remembered by his family and friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing and meeting him. He was a strong, generous, humorous, kind hearted family man, and gentleman. Honoring his final wishes Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward at 32992 Mission Blvd will be handling all arrangements. A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 19th 4:30-8:30 pm. The service will be held Wednesday, February 20th at 1:00pm.
