Sovinder Singh Sethi's Obituary
We are deeply saddened by the passing away of our beloved S. Sovinder Singh Sethi. He left peacefully for his heavenly abode on August 22, 2020.
Sovinder Singh Ji led an exemplary life of hard work, unconditional faith in Gurbani and selfless service to his immediate family as well as to the extended family. After the departure of his dearest father about 32 years ago, he took upon the role of a surrogate father and became the anchor point for all important family matters - providing guidance and support to all. He continued to reinforce the same values which his parents had instilled: hard work, family unity, honest living, and helping the poor and needy. He wanted everyone never to forget to thank Waheguru Ji for all His gifts.
Sovinder Singh Ji was one of kindest and gentlest people, very caring and always looking after the interests of the poor and needy. He spent a lot of time listening to Gurbani and doing seva at Fremont Gurdwara Sahib. He also felt a lot of compassion for non-human beings, and on many days, he was seen feeding food to the pigeons in the parking lot of the Fremont Gurdwara Sahib. With his loss, the family has lost a guiding light, and his brothers and sisters have lost the surrogate patriarch of the family. May Waheguru Ji rest his soul in peace and fulfill his desire of being with the Maker.
He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, brothers, sisters, friends, and the community. Let us pray for his soul and peace in his new place with the Maker
