Sophie Sandoval's Obituary
Sophie Sandoval passed away November 15, 2016 with her family by her side. Sophie was born on January 16, 1925 in Oakland, CA the 8th child of Ramon and Mercedes Caraballo. She was raised in Union City, CA where she met and married Joseph Sandoval in 1942. Sophie and Joseph raised five children in Hayward. She was an active member of Saint Joachim Catholic Church where her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and now her great -great grandchildren go to school. Her hobbies included cooking and country western music, but mostly taking care of her children and family. She would always make sure to offer everyone coffee and a bite to eat when they visited. Sophie is survived by four children Ernie and Linda Sandoval, Sophie Aretta, Josephine and Tony Feliciano and Cynthia and Noe Carreon; 14 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and 29 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Sophie is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Sandoval, her son Richard Sandoval, and her seven siblings. Visitation will be held Monday Nov. 21st 4:30PM-9:00pm at Chapel of the Chimes Hayward. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22nd 10:30AM at St. Joachim Catholic Church with burial to follow at Holy Sepulchre.
