Sonja Sandoval's Obituary
Sonja Sandoval, age 48, passed away peacefully April 25, 2019. She was born September 20, 1970 in Hayward, California to Gloria Garnica and Hercules A. De La O.Sonja was passionate about showing her love for people.Her radiating smile, warm energy and welcoming arms were contagious — she was a beautiful example of a mother, grandmother, sister and true friend. Junior Mints and Ben and Jerry’s Cherry Garcia ice cream were her favorites. She also shared her love of food with her homemade lasagna and fresh banana bread. She also loved fresh fruit and spent time cutting them into special shapes for her grandbabies.For many years Sonja worked at Kaiser and Sutter Health in Fremont. It suited her charitable heart. Everything she did was done with love. She had a passion for coaching softball, traveling with her daughters for sports tournaments, taking day trips to Carmel, watching Lifetime marathons and enjoying her grandchildren.Sonja is survived by her daughters Alana and Victoria Sandoval; sisters, Lily Moreno, Edna Mederios and Monica De La O; brothers, Andy De La O, Eric De La O and Michael De La O; grandchildren, David Sandoval Jr., Jaiden Pickens and Leila Soto, as well as her many nieces and nephews.Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday afternoon May 11, 2019, between 1:00 p.m. — 3:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, California.
