Socorro Hernandez's Obituary
Nov 22, 1940 – June 21, 2008 Resident of Newark Socorro entered peacefully into rest early Saturday morning at Washington Hospital in Fremont. She was 67 years old and a resident of Newark for 45 years. She was a homemaker and daycare provider. Socorro enjoyed playing bingo, cooking, watching her favorite novellas, watching her children and grandchildren play sports, spending time with her family. Loving mother of the late Jose Gilbert Hernandez, loving daughter of Angelina Pimentel and beloved wife of the late Ciro Hernandez Sr. Socorro is survived by brothers Guillermo Herrera, Raul Herrera and sister Raquel Copado. Sons Martin and wife Jo Anna of Union City, Henry and Ricardo of Newark, Ciro Jr. and wife Denise of Surprise, AZ, Joel of Hayward, Jorge and wife Adriane of San Lorenzo. Grandchildren Vanesa, Veronica, Alex, Ciro III, Miguel, Marissa, Alora, Sienna, Anthony, Isabella and great granddaughter Phoenix. Family and friends invited to attend vigil service Wednesday, June 25 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, rosary will begin at 6:00 pm at Chapel of the Chimes. Funeral service will be held Thursday, June 26 at 10:00 am at Chapel of the Chimes. A celebration of her life will be held following funeral services. Chapel of the Chimes (510) 471-3363
