SIONE PASI TAKAPU's Obituary
Sione Takapu Pasi returned to our Heavenly Father on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013, at age 75 in Hayward, Calif. Sione Takapu Pasi was born to Latu Nahau Pasi and Inoke To’a in Fotua, Ha’api, Tonga, on April 10, 1938. He married Fu’utoa Tupouniua in 1960. They later immigrated to the United States and raised their family in Hawaii and Utah. As a father of four, grandfather of 10, and great-grandfather of eight, Takapu Pasi led by example. In his daily life, he stressed faith, family and hard work as keys to be successful. He is survived by his wife, Fu’utoa; children Mele Ika (Leroy), Latu Nahau Takapu Pasi Reichenbacher (Bruce), Morning Star Takapu Pasi (JoLynn), and Loisi Anau Ki He Sina Takapu (Moli); siblings Inoke Vimahi, Tevita Peila Pasi, and Lose Pahulu; grandchildren Christine Yee, Catherine Wall, Loisi Yee, Candice Stenger, Luna Gallik, Brittany Star Takapu, Shaena Lynn Takapu, Catherine Jessica Reichenbacher, Morning Star Takapu, Jr., and Salome Moli Finau; and great-grandchildren Moala, Dylon, Kendal and Tuitavuki Wall, Ezias Takapu, Jadalynn Takapu, and Lucas and Thurston See. Haleavalu and Veiongo Muti assisted with his care in his final days. The family will hold a viewing service from 7-10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel at 26101 Gading Road, Hayward, CA 94544. A funeral will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at the LDS chapel at 2000 Highland Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544. He will be interred at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lone Tree Cemetery, 24591 Fairview Ave., Hayward, CA 94542.
