Shirley Ann Fleischman's Obituary
Shirley Ann Fleischman passed away peacefully on January 25th, into the arms of Jesus, with her family by her side after a courageous fight with a lengthy illness. She was 70 years young. Shirley was born on October 8, 1948 in Oakland, California to William and Ruth Pacheco. She graduated from Pacific High School in San Leandro, where she met the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Jody. They were married for 53 wonderful years, both very devoted to one another. Jody was her loving caregiver right up to her last breath. Their love story spanned several decades.Shirley loved being a wife, mother and homemaker. Together they raised their daughters Annette and Carol in their San Lorenzo home. Their home was filled with happy memories of family dinners, large family Christmas Eve parties, and endless game nights with friends. Shirley enjoyed entertaining, there was always ample food and drinks, everyone was treated as family. Shirley was her daughters and grandchildren’s biggest fan. She cheered them on from Scouting, school plays, soccer, gymnastics, softball, and wrestling. It didn’t matter the distance she was always there!Shirley’s love for people was most evident during her time working as the Office Secretary at Thomas Jefferson and Washington elementary schools in San Leandro. She loved serving the children, families and teachers. With that love, she transitioned to the Housing Authority in Alameda, Ca. where she retired in 2005.Joe & Shirley lived in San Leandro/San Lorenzo for most of their life until retirement, when they moved to Murphys,Ca. where they built their dream home with vast views of the foothills.Shirley is survived by her loving husband Joseph Fleischman. Her two daughters Annette Viel-Taormina (Tony) , Carol Elliott (Jay), Grandchildren: Joseph Viel, Nicole Viel, Jason Elliott, Lance Elliott, all from Lodi, Ca. Her Brother Donald Pacheco (Lynn), from Woodland, Washington. She was preceded in death by her Father William Pacheco, Mother Ruth Pacheco and Great Grandson Baby Marcus Dureault II.Visitation will be Friday, February 1, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by A Celebration of Life service at 11:30 am. Faith Community Church, 18621 N. Hwy 99, Acampo, CA . Committal is private.Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.
