Shelley Lynn SchumakerResident of FremontJuly 2, 1952 – April 4, 2016Shelley Schumaker passed away early Monday afternoon in her home from a lengthy illness. Shelley was predeceased by her husband, Bob Schumaker. Shelley was born in St. Louis, MO, graduated from Parkway Central High School and Mizzou University and earned her Master’s Degree from San Jose State University in Instructional Technolgy. She taught Speech and Drama at Thomas Russell Middle School in Milpitas, CA for 17 years, retiring in June of 2015.She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Brandi Schumaker, daughter and son-in-law, Marci and Chris Pick, and grandchildren Jacob, Zachary, Matt, Emmett and Harper. Shelley is also survived by sister and brother-in-law Pam and Sid Gold, and their children, Robin Laycock, Brian Gold, and Julie Star. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7th at 4:00 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward, CA. The family will receive visitors for Shiva at their home after the service on Thursday, and will be at Temple Beth Torah on Friday evening, then at home on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association would be appreciated.
