Sharon Marie Baldivid's Obituary
Sharon Marie Baldivid, born January 7, 1952, left us too soon on December 2, 2019. Sharon lived an amazingly full life and will be loved and remembered dearly by so many. Her husband of 50 years: Ruben Baldivid. Her children: Renee, Michael and Christopher. Her granddaughter: McKenzie. Her grandsons: Logan and Keaton. Her mother: Lucy. Her siblings: Maxine, Joyce, Robert & Angel. Her extended family from Northern and Southern California as well as Denver, Colorado. Her adopted family from across America and around the world. Sharon is preceded in death by her father Max and her brother Rick. “Miss Sharon”, as she was known to a generation of children, and later “Teacher Grandma” by McKenzie, Sharon never stopped caring for children. It was the greatest passion of her life both at work and at home. From Rainbow Room to Alameda County Head Start to George Mark Children’s House to The Kids Breakfast Club to Child Evangelism Fellowship – Sharon had room in her heart for all the children in the world. They just don’t make love stories like Ruben and Sharon anymore: from that first moment on Tarman Avenue and for the next five decades, rain or shine, they never left each other’s side. They never stopped travelling the world together; they never stopped adopting children and grandchildren “from the heart”. Sharon was proud to be counted a faithful follower of Christ. Services for Sharon will be held at the Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward on Thursday, December 12. Viewing will be from 11am – 1pm and Celebration of Life from 1pm – 2:30pm. Reception to follow. The Baldivid family asks, in lieu of flowers, to remember Sharon in your generosity to George Mark Children’s house or The Kids Breakfast Club.
