Celebrating the life of Sarla SabhlokSarla was born in Sind, United India (now part of Pakistan). She was a good student and loved helping people. She pursued a Bachelor’s in Arts specializing in Education and decided to pursue teaching K-12 students which she did for 33 years with most of it in Mumbai, India. She retired as the head of English department. She loved poetry in her early years of teaching and would constantly immerse herself in poems from the world over. Students loved her narrations and looked forward to class every day. She encouraged students to unleash their potential and graduate with flying colors. To date she has a great student fan following. She was married for over 50 years and lived a simple, yogic and virtuous life. She taught her children to be truthful, kind and generous. She was fiercely independent in thinking and constantly strove hard to spread the message of Yoga and Meditation in the latter part of her life after retiring from teaching.Sarla will always be remembered as a helpful sister, a devoted mother and teacher, a loving life partner to her husband, a compassionate person to co-workers and hired hands, and a true Yogi.May her soul rest in eternal peace and achieve her pure desire of “Moksha”.
