Sally Barraza's Obituary
Sally (Celia) Barraza was born on June 13, 1936 in Westmoreland, CA to Felipe Rodriguez and Hospicia Rodriguez. She was born with a twin sister, Lydia, who she beat into this world by a few minutes — she always reminded her that she was the oldest.Sally spent her formative years in San Jose, CA where she attended school until her senior year in high school. After her graduation the family relocated to Los Angeles, CA. While in Los Angeles, she was baptized at El Siloe Church on April 27, 1956 by Reverend Lorenzo Salazar. Here she grew spiritually under the guidance of her pastor, Bishop Antonio C. Nava. She served as a Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Youth Camp Counselor, and she also sang with The Voces Apostolicas.Sally and her mother moved to Fremont, CA in 1968. She worked at Lockheed Martin to support herself and her loving mother. She also worked at Diablo Systems.Sally attended and graduated from the Bible College, Colegio Biblico in Hayward, CA where she also sang and traveled with the school choir throughout the Apostolic Churches in California and Mexico. She taught Sunday School and loved to sing solos. She was dedicated and worked with the youth and transported them in her own vehicle to different activities.On June 30,1973, she married Pedro Barraza. A few years later, they transferred to La Iglesia Apostolica in Hayward, CA where she continued to work in different ministries (the kitchen, Little Mexico, Prayer Blankets, etc.). They added to their family a son, Pete Barraza, Jr. on February 8, 1980. Pedro and Sally hosted numerous nephews and nieces until they were able to settle, into their own homes.While in the hospital, she continued to remind family members to go to church, leaving a legacy to work for the Lord and serve others.This is the way she completed her journey!
