The 94 years journey of our beloved Papa Ji has come to a peaceful end in this world.
He was the beloved son of Sardar Sajjan Singh and Sardarni Rali Kaur, Born in Lyallpur (Undivided India). He spent his childhood in Chak 28. He got his Education from D.B High School Samundri (1944), East Punjab University, Solan (1949) and All India Jat Heroes Memorial College, Rohtak (1956). He mastered five languages- Persian, Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, and English.
He married Kulwant Kaur and they were blessed with three children- Gurdish, Dhanwant and Rajwant.
He Joined Indian Military as a Civil School teacher in the year 1951, but due to his leg amputation he was unable to continue at that position and joined as a Headmaster in Balahri Kalan in the year 1957 and served till 1986. Then, he volunteered for Hansali college/School as a Principal from year 1991 to 2004. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by everyone.
He was an avid farmer and he sowed and ploughed with his own hardworking hands. For his love of nature, he spent lot of his time working in his home garden. He was a person who loved to ride his bicycle, was an excellent writer and reader, and a very organized person.
He was good son, brother, father and the best grandfather and greatest great grandfather. He dedicated his whole life to give the best education to his children, nieces, and nephews. Then he took on the fatherly role to raise and educate his grandchildren. When people of his age were enjoying their retired life, he was still fulfilling his responsibilities towards his children.
After spending most of his life in India, he came to Canada to live with his children in 2015. He was a proud grandfather and cherished the success that his children achieved by following his footsteps. He was an example of patience, determination, and success by showing how hard work can overcome all the obstacles in life. He didn’t lose willpower to be successful even though he met with tragic accident at age 22 because of which his left leg got amputated.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who know him.
We are very proud of you papa ji and we will forever be grateful for everything you did for us.
