Vernie Wilkins was my mother’s brother.
My Aunt Ruth Wilkins lived in Fremont many years and had many long term freiends there. She was pre-deceased by her husband Vernie Wilkins and son Donny Wilkins. She was one of 5 sibling, which all pre-deceased her. Ruth was the oldesr, then George Hall, Carol Staten, Mary Ashbaugh and Marjorie Lahon. She had several nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews. Ruth was born in Minnasota after which the family moved to Oregon. She graduated from Medford H.S. Later she moved to Greenville, CA which was where she married her husband Vernie and gave birth to her only child, Donny. In the early 1950’s Vernie, Ruth and Donny moved to the bay area. After retirement they followed her sister Carol to Yuma Arizona and lived there for over 30 years until health issues brought her to live with one of her nieces in California. Ruth was retired from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office. We love yu Aunt Ruth and will miss you until our journey home brings us together again.
