Ruth F. TouchonOctober 26, 1915-January 16, 2011Ruth F. Touchon, a 74 year resident of Hayward, died January 16th at the age of 95 years.Born in Dunellen, New Jersey on October 26, 1915, she was the second of six children born to Nelson and Ida Maude Snyder.Ruth and her husband, the late William A. (Bill) Touchon arrived in Hayward in July of 1937 after driving across the country in their Model A Ford. After rearing their three children to adulthood, Ruth spent many years caring for other children.She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hayward for more than 60 years.Ruth is survived by her daughters, Myrna L Alvitre of Marina and Karen J. Touchon of Hayward; her son and daughter-in-law, William E. (Skip) and Beth Touchon of Atascadero; and a brother Everett Snyder of Ione. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Jennifer Alvitre of Salinas and Haley Touchon of Great Lakes, Illinois; great grandson Aaron Alvitre of Jamestown, California; great granddaughters Amanda Snider and Cassie Alvitre of Salinas; great great grandson Elijah Alvitre of Marina; and several nieces and nephews.The family wishes to express its appreciation to Kalo Muller and Juana Bermec who helped care for Ruth.In lieu of flowers, the family wishes you make a donation to the charity of your choice.Inurnment has occurred under the direction of Chapel of the Chimes in Hayward. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 11th at Chapel of the Chimes.
