Ruth Carolyn Guevara's Obituary
On February 21, 2023, surrounded by her love ones, our Beloved Ruth passed away peacefully in her home, in Shasta Lake, California.
Ruth was born in Burgaw, North Carolina to parents Ernest and Alice Murray. In 1973 she and her late husband Marcelino Paul-Benjamen Guevara Jr., were married and moved to San Leandro, California.
After moving to San Leandro, California, she began working for LatchFord’s Glass Company for over two decades. After leaving LatchFord’s, she became employed at Dunbar Armed Guard Service and worked up until 2002. Thereafter, she took on the role as a loving caregiver for her husband until his passing in 2013.
Ruth is survived by daughters, Cherish L. Guevara Campbell, and Barbie R. Guevara Brown, her son in law’s, Derrick Campbell and Michael Guevara Brown; her five amazing grand-children Fantasia; Joseph; Annabella; Griffen, and Gia as well as her brother James Murray and other relatives.
Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she loved. She was an extraordinary role model for her daughters and taught them to be independent, strong, loving, caring, and to always remain humble.
She believed in and praised her daughter's accomplishments. And, always provided comfort during their trials in life. Her Grandchildren was the highlight of her life. The love she had for them could not be measured. She treated them with the upmost respect and equality. Ruth was truly a role model and an amazing listener and protector.
Ruth loved to laugh, dance, enjoyed music of Prince, The Time, Doja Cat, Guns and Roses, Metallica and Elvis Presley. She enjoyed playing games, and watching her favorite TV shows with her family. And, don’t let us forget, some of her favorite foods was “Chocolate”, sweet potato pie and a nice hot cup of coffee. Ruth will be truly missed by her family and friends. She left us too soon and our grief and pain will last indefinitely. Rest in paradise mommy and grandma until we see you again.
We Love you forever, Cherish, Barbie, Derrick, Mike, Fantasia, Joseph, Bella, Griffen, and Gia.
