Ruth E. Dorsey's Obituary
Ruth Evelyn Dorsey passed away peacefully on January 22, 2016 at the age of 93 years old. She was born on February 9, 1922 in Hardwick, Minnesota. Ruth retired from the Union Pacific Railroad as an Operations Manager starting as a secretary and climbing up the ladder to management.Ruth loved to dance especially with her husband, Dean. They met at the Ali Baba Ballroom in Oakland in 1946 and have been dancing most of the 68 years they have been married.Ruth is survived by her brother, Lloyd Holling of Florida, her husband, Dean Dorsey of San Ramon, daughters Linda Vernon of Pleasanton, Pam Knotts and son-in-law Don Knotts of Castro Valley. She is also survived by her grandchildren Chris Vernon and wife, Avelina and great-grandson, Hudson of Pleasanton, Gregory Knotts of Alameda, Renee Vernon of San Ramon, and Kevin Knotts of Castro Valley.Ruth will be lovingly laid to rest on Wednesday, February 3rd at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park in Hayward. Services will begin in the Garden of Honor at 10:30 am.
