Chapel Of The Chimes Hayward
Rudy was one of my first “Uncle”s, in the early 50’s there weren’t many filipinos here, therefore any that my family picked up at the dock became relatives immediately. My memories include him baking “biko” for us; including making the scraper for the coconuts to get the white meat; squeezing the that to get the “milk”, used in the sweet rice cake and especially the topping. Other memories are with him in his white chef uniform at the officer’s club in the Presidio. He was there for the holidays and special occasions to help my mother, Mama Ester, cook. We loved to watch him dance, especially the tango.A sweet gentle and caring man who was loved by many, will be missed by even more.We love you Uncle Rudy, you are in our hearts.##imported-begin##Marilyn (Mer) Castaneda Cariola##imported-end##
