Roy C. Culbertson, 76 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2002. Roy was born to Roy C. and Evelyn Culbertson, Sr. in Kansas City, Missouri on July 6, 1926. Roy and his wife, Carol have been residents of Castro Valley, California for 34 years. Roy retired as a Supervising Internal Auditor after 40 years at PG&E. Roy held several offices in the Institute of Internal Auditors. He was a member of the East Bay Association for Retirees. He was in the Who's Who in Business in 1979-1981. In his later years Roy worked at Skywest Golf Course Pro Shop for 8 years. He enjoyed golfing. He served as an Elder for 7 years at First Christian Church of Castro Valley, California. He was a Choir Director for many years with various churches. He also served as a Worship Leader for many years. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army during WWII in the Philippines and Japan. He worked as a Clerk in General McArthur's Headquarters. Roy and his lovely bride, Carol were married on the Bride & Groom Radio Program on September 16, 1947 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California. Roy and his wife loved to travel whenever they got the chance.Roy was preceded in death by his beloved parents; Roy C. and Evelyn Culbertson. Roy was also preceded in death by his dear sister; Geraldine Culbertson. Roy was also preceded in death by an aunt, Beulah Wright. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Carol Culbertson of Castro Valley, California. Roy was a devoted father to his three wonderful daughters & their spouses, Cathlyne & Walter Wheat of El Sobrante, Lori & Dan Dubow of Castro Valley and Shari & Joseph Silva of San Leandro, California. Roy was a proud grandfather of nine grandchildren; Adam Wheat of Concord, California, Meghan Talbott of Louisville, Kentucky, Laura Wheat of Los Angeles, California, Jonathan Wheat of El Sobrante, California, Derek, Devin and Dane Dubow all of Castro Valley, California and Mark and Christopher Silva of San Leandro, California. He also has two precious great-grandchildren; Alyssa and Jackson Talbott of Louisville, Kentucky. Roy also leaves two special aunts; Dorothy Hooper of Raytown, Missouri and Mary Morris of Missouri.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 19, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. at First Christian Church of Castro Valley: 20307 Marshall, Castro Valley, CA 94546 (510) 582-2480. A Private Graveside was held on Thursday, October 10, 2002 at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544.The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be sent in his memory to Pathways Hospice & Home Health: P.O.
