Rose L. Simmons May 14, 1929 ~ October 14, 2005Rose, a resident of San Leandro for more than 50 years, passed away October 14, 2005. She was born in Oakland on May 14, 1929. She was a graduate of Oakland Technical High School. Rose met her future husband, Daulton “Tex” Simmons at a ballroom dance in Oakland. They were married on July 26, 1947.Rose was known as a generous hearted person who loved being around her family and friends. She loved to dance, travel, take walks, roller skate, and bike. Rose was also an accomplished accordionist. Rose was always faithful to her Catholic upbringing. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker to her husband, Daulton; daughter, Susan; son, Glen; and grandchildren; Chelsea and Ashley; son-in-law, Mark and daughter-in-law, Tamara. Her smile and ability to make people laugh will truly be missed.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
