Rosario P. Obregon's Obituary
Rosario (Chayo) Obregon, 93, a resident of San Lorenzo for three years, entered into rest in Hayward on Sunday, April 14, 2002. He was born in Tombstone Territory, AZ on August 30, 1908. He was a member of Elcino Community Church in Fresno and a member of Primera Igelcia Bautista of Union City. Chayo enjoyed gardening and his gardens were always fruitful and were open to all to receive the rewards of the garden. He also enjoyed carpentry work and many of the items he made, (pulpits, choir stands and communion tables,) were made for local churches in the area. In 1995 his beloved wife of 64 years, Rebecca Obregon preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving children, Esther Reyes of Santa Fe, NM, Rebecca Mullen of Red Bluff, Mary Ann Gonzalez of San Lorenzo, Samuel Obregon of Truckee, and Benjamin Obregon of Madison, WI and the late Rachel Obregon who passed away in 1952. Dear brother of Adelina Sandoval of Tulsa, OK, Frank Obregon of Oxnard, Tony Obregon of Whittier and Joe Obregon of Oxnard. The caring grandfather of eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.Family and friends may visit on Thursday, April 18, 2002 from 5:30 to 8:30PM in the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544, where a wake service will be held at 7:00PM. A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM, Friday, April 19, 2002 also in the Mission Chapel of Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, CA 94544.
