Rosalio Maldonado Elizalde's Obituary
On March 20, 1930 Pedro and Prajedes Elizalde were blessed with a baby boy; Rosalio who was one of their 9 children. Rosalio was born in Celaya Guanajuato, unfortunately he wasn't able to finish school because he had to work to help provide for his family. In 1954, he came to the United States with his brother Cruz to have a better life.
He then started working at a nursery in San Leandro with his brother Cruz, he worked there for about 12 years in this time he met Maria and they became boyfriend and girlfriend. After working at the nursery he went to work with his brother-in-law Guillermo, they worked at United Engineer and Machinery Company for about 10 years. He then worked at a nursery in Hayward where he retired because he hurt himself. Rosalio studied very hard and became a United States citizen in 2000.
Rosalio and Maria married on July 14, 1956. They moved together to Union City on Alvarado into a little shack and started a family right away with Pedro the first born. Then 2 years later Yolanda was born, they didn't even decide to wait and had Rudy in the same year! After 11 years came Gloria.
He was blessed to have a daughter-in-law Anita and 2 son-in-laws Valentino and Manuel. He was also very blessed to have wonderful grandchildren, Alica, Analisa, Valentino Jr, Mercedes, Monica, Alex, Leticia, and Renee. And of course the great grandchildren, Dezmon, Cameron, Emmanuel, Alyssa, Cecilia, Nathaniel, Valentino III, Camelia, Ysabel, and Ivy!
He was a very caring and loving man who enjoyed spending time with his family, making his famous carnitas and tripas, sipping on tequila, drinking beer, listening to music and dancing. He also loved going to Cancun every year with his wife and in-laws. He was born with a green thumb; everything he touched would grow.
In our hearts, you Rosalio will always be. Your love, your voice, your smile are forever imprinted in our minds.
It is with great sadness that we regretfully announce the passing of Mr. Rosalio Elizalde. Mr. Elizalde passed on June 15, 2022 in Hayward, California at the age of 92. Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Hayward, California.
