Rosalina DeGala Goldstein's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Rosalina de Gala Goldstein
Rosalina “Rosie” de Gala Goldstein, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2025. Born in April of 1945 in Candelaria, Quezon, Philippines, she was the cherished daughter of the late Sinforoso and Concordia de Gala and one of twelve children in a close-knit family.
Rose graduated from Centro Escolar University with a bachelor’s degree in medical technology, a field she pursued with dedication and pride. Shortly after completing her studies, she was selected for an opportunity that would shape the rest of her life: a position at a hospital in Westchester, New York. She arrived in the United States on December 12, 1971, a moment she often reflected on with deep gratitude and humility.
It was in Westchester that Rose met her late husband, Barry Goldstein. Together they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and family, welcoming their daughter, Carolyn Concordia “CeCe” Goldstein, who became the center of Rose’s world. After a long and accomplished career as a medical technician, Rose retired from Kaiser Permanente, leaving behind colleagues who admired her for her compassion, generosity, and friendship.
Above all, Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother. She took immense pride in CeCe’s academic achievements and life accomplishments, and she adored her granddaughters, Abigail and Jaelyn, who brought her endless joy. Her greatest wish was always for her daughter and grandchildren to be happy.
Faith was an anchor in Rose’s life. She attended church every Sunday and carried her spirituality with quiet strength. She loved traveling, staying connected to her Filipino roots, and watching her favorite soap operas—General Hospital, One Life to Live, and All My Children. She was also known for her sharp wit, playful humor, contagious laughter, and the quiet persistence and personal strength that carried her through life’s challenges.
She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, humor, wit, and resilience. Her presence was a blessing, and her absence leaves a space that can never be filled.
She is survived by her daughter, CeCe; her granddaughters, Abigail and Jaelyn; and her siblings Fe Macatangay, Naty Turman, Leopoldo de Gala, Danilo de Gala, and Marlene Garcia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barry Goldstein, and her siblings Soledad Padua, Angel de Gala, Gelio de Gala, Esther Francisco, Noemi Crisogono, and Aida G. Jugueta.
Rose will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
