Rosalie Rosenbaum's Obituary
Rosalie Rosenbaum of Fremont, CA passed away peacefully, and lovingly surrounded by family on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at the age of 93. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Herman S. Rosenbaum; three children Louis Rosenbaum (Kathleen), David Rosenbaum (Joanne Mogannam), and Judy Polakoff (née Rosenbaum); and two grandchildren Kevin Rosenbaum and Rachel Rosenbaum.
Rosalie was born in New York City and met the love of her life, Herman, in high school. They were married in 1953 and moved to Fremont in 1964. While raising their three children, Rosalie and Herman helped establish Temple Beth Torah, a reform synagogue in Fremont. Rosalie was a stay-at-home mom during her children’s early years and later worked for the City of Fremont School District as a bookkeeper in the accounting department. She was very active in the Temple Beth Torah Sisterhood and the FUSD retiree community and spent many hours doing community work with the Bay Area Jewish Coalition for Literacy, helping children learn to read. She also volunteered in the Cardiac Care Unit at Washington Hospital. However, her greatest love was her family, especially raising her children and participating in the lives of her grandchildren. May her memory be a blessing.
A funeral service will be held at Temple Beth Torah of Fremont, 42000 Paseo Padre Pkwy, on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 10:30 AM. Following the service, internment will take place at 1:00 PM at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd in Hayward. Family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Doctors Without Borders (https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org) or to Temple Beth Torah of Fremont (https://www.bethtorah-fremont.org).
