Ronald Charles Fields' Obituary
Ronald "Ron" Charles Fields, passed on Monday, December 31, 2001 due to a sudden illness. Ron was born on December 4, 1934 in San Francisco, California, the only child of George P. Fields and Almeta Fields. Ron was raised in San Francisco and later in Seattle, Washington. Ron attended Edison College in Seattle, Washington and later attended Chabot College in Hayward, California. Ron served in the U.S. Air Force which he was honorably discharged in 1961. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years, retiring as Manager of Computer Operations Branch. He retired in 1991. During Ron's retirement he served 5 years as a Library Commissioner for the City of Hayward. He also served on the Mayor of Hayward Blue Ribbon Task Force on Library Services in 1996. Prior to his retirement Ron was the President of the Eunomic Club. Since his retirement Ron also worked at Bay Cities Auto Auction for the past 9 years. Ron was an avid Golfer along with his wife Marjorie. Ron is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Marjorie Siemsen of Hayward, California. His daughter, Ronda Fields of Smithville, Texas, son, Richard Fields of Berkeley, California, his mother, Jackie Fields of Berkeley, California, stepdaughter, Viki Patterson of Foster City, California and his stepson, Steven Siemsen of San Carlos, California. He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at 2:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home - Reflection Chapel; 32992 Mission Boulevard, Hayward, CA 94544.The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be sent in his memory to Father Flanagan's Boys Town; P.O.
