Rodrigo "Rocky" Arteaga's Obituary
Rodrigo “Rocky” Silvano Arteaga Jan. 12, 1958 – Jan. 11, 2010 Resident of Hayward Beloved husband of Paulette Ann, devoted father of Rodrigo Jr. “Rocky II”, Silvano Arteaga and Sarina Victoria. Loving grandfather of Sanitha and LIllyAnn Victoria. He leaves behind his mother, Marie Pomales and siblings, Christine, Veronica and Magdalena. He was employed by Shaklee Corp. for 23 years and later retired to teach second grade and serve as Athletic Director for the Union City Christian Academy. He received an Associate Degree in Christian Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology from CBAI. He also taught Old Testament History at Northern Pacific Coast Bible College. With his gentle spirit, he volunteered for over 25 years as a Little League Coach and YMCA basketball coach. He was an active member of the Union City Apostolic Church and was an inspiration to all. He was a die-hard fan of the San Francisco Giants and the San Francisco 49ers. Rocky was a people person and had numerous friends and extended family that he enjoyed spending time playing slow pitch, golfing, fishing and especially cooking for them. He was a hero to some and a champion debater to others. Family and friends are invited to attend his services. Funeral Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 10:00 am, Union City Apostolic Church; Burial to follow at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward.
