Rodolfo Ruelos' Obituary
Lt Col Rodolfo S. Ruelos, PMA Class 1967 died on November 27, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He silently passed away after he was rushed to the hospital by the family. He is survived by very loving wife Mrs. Nora M. Ruelos, children Tessa Lowe and Ronald, sister-in law Josefina Maglaya and grandson Dalton Lowe and fiancée Laura. His eldest son, Raymund (Bong), died in a car accident in California on February 19, 1989. Rudy, as he was fondly called by his classmates of the Philippine Military Academy, relatives and friends, was a decorated officer and helicopter pilot of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). He was well-known for his bravery and combat flying skills performing combat missions in support of the AFP counter-insurgency war against the communist and muslim rebels in the Philippines in his early military career. He later on migrated to the US to seek greener pastures and find better opportunities for his family. Rudy was a very loving and good husband, father and grandfather. A very simple and religious man, he was well-liked by many. As a classmate wrote of him in the PMA Cl’ 67 Yearbook, he said, “ It is impossible to dislike “Rue”. His easy manners and cool outlook enabled him to break through any task and fits anywhere like a master key, be it in his military job, his day-to-day life and even in field of culinary arts. We will surely miss him. Our heart-felt condolence and sympathy to his wife Nora; loving children Tessa and Ronald; very supportive sister-in-law Jopai; only grandson Dalton and fiancee Laura and the Ruelos and Maglaya family. We join the family in prayers for the repose of his soul and let perpetual light shine upon him O Lord. May he rest in peace.
