Rodolfo Pascual Catindig's Obituary
Rodolfo was a man who lived with two contrary sides. He was not the best at adapting to new technology, but loved seeing the future in Science Fiction, especially Star Trek. He loved to research and read things like Consumer Reports to find the best products to buy, but would never bother to read a movie or restaurant review since he enjoyed lots of bad movies on Netflix and only really loved his wife’s cooking. In 1964, Rudy set sail on a 20 year career in the US Navy to see the world and make his mark, but it was only after being stationed back home in the Philippines did he meet a girl from the town of his birth that life would make its mark on him. He liked to keep most things short and to the point, but could ramble on about the things he cared about most. He was always prepared and approached every task with intent and precision, but he was also very carefree and loose, the definition of happy go lucky when it came to dealing with life’s troubles. He always knew how to take serious and intense head on with a smile and a joke. At 8:45pm on the night of August 10th, 2018, Rudy passed on in his home and is survived by his loving wife of 45 years and only son. We can all only hope to cope with the toughest of times by following his example – remain calm, take all the best and worst parts of ourselves to prepare for the worst and then charge straight ahead armed only with his favorite weapons, joy and laughter.
