Rodolfo Buco Canio's Obituary
RODOLFO BUCO CANIO entered eternal life on Thursday, April 21 2022 in Fremont, California. He was born in Candaba, Philippines on September 19, 1933 the son of the late Ambrosia Buco and Timoteo Canio.
He grew up in the Philippines and the youngest of 7 siblings. He grew up on a farm with his family often tending to the lands, ducks and carabaos. With the encouragement of his father and siblings, he was the first to go to college. He graduated from Central Luzon State University in the College of Agriculture and received a Bachelor of Science degree. After Graduating, he became a teacher in Pampanga Provincial High School where he reconnected with the love of his life and eventual wife, Carmelita Bautista. They married on February 24, 1963. Soon after they started a family and had 4 children, Bernadette, John, Enelyn and Timoteo. Because of uncertain future in the Philippines, need to support his immediate and extended family and promise of a better life, he made a difficult decision to leave his family and immigrated to America in 1970. His wife soon joined him and after working night and day for a year, he was able to bring his children to America. Working tireless with multiple jobs was difficult but second nature. He was very religious person and believed that through hard work, good things will happen, and dreams come true. He also felt that helping others was important and didn’t hesitate to do so. More so, giving was more valuable than receiving. He was respected and adored by many.
He enjoyed tending to his garden and watching NBA Basketball especially Golden State Warriors. He loved spending time with his wife and supporting her whether it was making longanisa and tocino or business opportunities. He adored spending time with his kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Carmelita, 4 children Bernadette, John, Enelyn, Timoteo, their spouses and 12 grandchildren.
Relatives and Friends are invited to the viewing at the Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home Hayward & Memorial Park in the Mission Chapel on May 12, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral Mass will be on May 13, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will be at the Chapel of the Chimes at 1130 PM.
