ROBERTO J. REYES's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Roberto "Bobby" Reyes, aged 84, who passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024, in Fremont, California. Born in Batangas City, Philippines on February 10, 1940, Bobby moved to the United States and dedicated his life to his family, work, and his community.
For 23 years, Bobby worked as a Civil Engineer for the City of Fremont, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the local infrastructure. His expertise and dedication earned him respect from colleagues and community members alike.
Beyond his professional life, Bobby found immense joy in supporting his grandchildren's extracurricular activities and traveling the world with his beloved wife. His passion for his family's achievements and his thirst for adventure made him a cherished and inspiring presence in the lives of those who knew him.
After retirement Bobby continued to dedicate himself to community service as an active member of the Batanguenos of Northern California Santo Nino Devotees Association, the Rotary Club of Mission San Jose, and Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Bobby was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers, Oakland A's, and a devout Golden State Warriors fan. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to games and watching games on television with his family. His passion for the Bay Area sports teams paled in comparison to his passion for his grandchildren’s sporting activities. He made every effort to attend as many of his grandchildren’s sporting events as possible.
Bobby's life was defined by his unwavering love and dedication to his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife Violeta; daughters Francia (spouse Jimmie), Cristina (spouse Kyle), and Xenia (spouse Nelson); son Rod (spouse Jasmin); as well as a legacy of love that lives on through his grandchildren: Danielle, Samantha, Jonah, Brendan, Rylee, Jalen, Jarod, Jensen, Alexandra, Holden, and Jace. Bobby is also survived by his sister Lynn R. Fernandez, and numerous extended family members.
