Roberto De Castro Cruz, 76 years old, of Castro Valley passed away peacefully on October 20, 2021. He was surrounded by his family.
Roberto was born on March 27, 1945 in Lucena City, Philippines. Roberto is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Cecilia Solmirano Cruz;
children Elbert, Erwina, and Erasmo; grandchildren Sharlynne, Shane, Alec,
and Abigail, Katherine and Romero Jr, Christopher and Christiana; sisters
Lourdes Reyes, Ditas Gloria, and Chona Cruz. He was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe Era Cruz and Pura De Castro Cruz; son Enrico Cruz; and brother Felipe Cruz Jr.
Roberto was an avid reader, and his hobbies included watching television especially sports and Jeopardy, playing card games, mahjong, and going to the casino. He also loves food especially Filipino food. His favorites are crispy pata, steaks, king crab legs, and chocolates.
Services will be held at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd, Hayward, CA., on Friday, 19 November 2021 between 4pm to 7pm. Funeral mass will be held at Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, 32223 Cabello Street, Union City, CA., on Saturday, 20 November 2021 at 10am.
