Roberta Rae Hallock's Obituary
Roberta Rae Hallock, 79 died peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, February 22, 2003. She was a long-time resident of Fremont, California. Roberta was born on March 1, 1923 in Fresno, California. A third generation native of California, her family arrived from France during the gold rush.Roberta was a graduate of University of the Pacific and obtained her teaching credential from San Jose State University. She began her teaching career in San Jose, California in 1946.Upon moving to Fremont, California in 1959, she continued her career first teaching kindergarten at Glenmoor, and then becoming one of the first teachers at Mattos Elementary. She taught at Mattos until her retirement in 1987.Roberta was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ivan Hallock. She is survived by her daughters, Susan Pesicka & her husband Allan of Pleasanton, California and Candace Rhodes of Fremont, California and her son, Robert Hallock of Fremont, California. She is also survived by her granddaughters, Dayna Riddle, Sarah Katie and Emily Pesicka. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Joshua, Kylie and Madelyn Riddle.Services and Inurnment were held privately at Chapel of the Chimes Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 32992 Mission Blvd., Hayward, California.
